Exchange Meeting

Objectives

The goals of the exchange meeting included encouraging communications among, and raising the biodiversity awareness of, international youths toward COP10. The exchange meeting helped local Aichi youths to become more eco-aware and learn about biodiversity conservation, etc., while promoting communications with youths from different parts of the world who came to Japan to attend the International Youth Conference.

15:00–21:00 on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 (at Aichi Shukutoku University, and in different parts of Aichi Prefecture)

Details

The exchange meeting was planned and organized from the viewpoint of students (staff members), with such communications programs as outdoor activities and inspection tours in mind. The exchange meeting was joined by local students to promote communications.

• 1. Exchange meeting: five courses available (field work)
  • (1) Experience Japanese Culture and Learn the Spirit of ‘YUI’ at a House with a Steep Thatched Roof! (at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens)
  • (2) Try It, Feel It! 400 Years of Tradition (at the Tie-Dyeing Museum)
  • (3) Tiny Dragonflies and a Taste of Bountiful Satoyama (in Nisshin City * Observation of Haccho tombo, Japan’s smallest dragonfly)
  • (4) Visit Memorial Site of 21C Environment World Expo by Linimo! (at Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park)
  • (5) “Species” — Experience Life’s Blessings at Nagoya City Agricultural Cener! (at the Nagoya Agricultural Center)
