White-tailed Sea Eagle is resident in the northern Eurasian Continent. It usually migrates to coasts, upper and middle rivers, and lakes of Hokkaido Island for wintering. A few pairs breed in northern and eastern Hokkaido Island. It nests on a large tree near to water. It skims the water surface to capture fishes or dive to catch small mammals. Its breeding becomes difficult due to cut of large trees, which is necessary to nest.
